    Wigtown Book Town

    Wigtown was officially designated as Scotland's National Book Town in 1998 and is now home to over 20 book-related businesses. A book lovers haven – and with over quarter of a million books to choose from, old and new.

     

    Newton Stewart Walking Festival

    Bladnoch Malt Whisky Distillery

    Kirkdale Water-Driven Sawmill and Nature Trail

    Restored estate sawmill, dating from the 1800s, driven by an over-shot water wheel. Visitors can enjoy a walk up the wooded glen alongside the mill lade to the mill pond.
